Can Parents Keep a Minor's Identification Cards
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Ipswich, U.K.

My bf is 17, turning 18 in December. His parents have all of his valid identification in their possession, and his debit card. They control his money completely and he doesn't have a say in the matter. He works full time, and his wages aren't even accessible to him? They won't even let him have his identification to see movies. They have already said that this will continue when he is 18, and that they will not allow him to move out until it deems them fit. What could he do in this situation?

Re: My Boyfriend (17 Nearly 18) Refused Id and Personal Funds from Parents
We only deal with US law, here. Try http://www.thelawforum.co.uk.

In the US, he'd be SOL. He can move out when he wants (well in 49 states) once he turns 18. With scant exception neither that debit card nor the "personal funds" are actually his.
