What Do You Do on Your Court Date for a Larceny Charge
My question involves criminal law for the state of: NC

I am 25 and a first time offender for larceny. I stole $36 worth of earrings from a khols in concord. I am freaking out. I am a mother and cannot go to jail and my husband and I are both out of work so I cannot afford an attorney. What do I do at my court date tomorrow? Am I going to jail? I live in Maryland now and was down visiting family when this happened. Can someone please just tell me what to expect and what to do. Thanks

Should have thought of that before you became a criminal.

You're probably not going to jail over this.

    Go to court.

When your name is called the prosecutor will probably come over and talk to you.

What you do is up to you.
