Car Stolen and Registered by an Ex-Boyfriend

My ex boyfriend stole my car and title I reported both stolen and they still registered my car in his name! What do I do?

You can keep working with the police and prosecutor. You can also sue, but should first discuss with the prosecutor whether that would affect the criminal charge.

He must have forged your signature on the title as well, which is a pretty serious charge in its own right.

You already filed the report with the police. I am assuming that you have kept them updated with information including the location of the car if you know it.

When you say he stole it, HOW did he come into possession of the car? (There is a reason I ask.)

Did he appear anywhere on the paperwork to the car? Did you report the vehicle stolen BEFORE he re-registered/titled it?
