Can a Minor Move Away to Be With His Girlfriend
I live in nj and im 15 the i was wondering if im old enough to leave the house because my girlfriends family is moving and she doesent want to go without me or she wants to stay with me do i need to get emancipated to be able to actually move out or does she need to be emancipated to be able to move in with me and my family
Re: Can a Minor Run Away Because his Girlfirend is Moving
Neither of you gets to run away from home, and young love is not a basis for emancipation.
Re: Can a Minor Run Away Because his Girlfirend is Moving
Until you are 18, you live where your parents say you live.
Until she is 18, she lives where her parents say she lives.
Neither of you qualifies for emancipation.

Its not just "young love" shes pregnant and i dont want to miss out on the childs life her mom even said that she can move in with my family if my mom agrees i just want to see if theres any legal things to need to be filled out and taken care of

You've just guaranteed that she won't be emancipated. She needs more, not less, adult supervision.

You should have thought about missing out on every day things with your child before you had sex. You need to get a job after school and on weekends so you can pay child support. The mother of your child will eventually take you to court for child support. If the DNA test proves you are the father you might want to consider obtaining court ordered visitation with your child. If the test proves you are the father you will be ordered to pay child support until the child is 18.
