Responsibility To Buyers Of A Home After They Take Possession
I was not sure where this should be posted and sorry that this is very lengthy. But perhaps someone could help me.
I sold a house to a couple and closed last Friday. The last month of this whole thing, the couple buying the house has made some requests which I have done. One issue here was the stove they saw in the house at the time of the showing and their realtor told them that this was the stove that was included with the house...when all along in the contract it said replacement stove. After the couple asked me for 500.00 for a new stove and then looked over the contract they knew they were wrong. My realtor said that they were mad, but that was stated.
Needless to say the husband made another request to have the driveway plowed a couple of times which my husband and I did before the owned the property. He also requested 5 days before the closing to have the camper removed within 30 days, and if we tore up the lawn we needed to pay for it. The camper was removed 2 days later with no lawn damage.
During closing, their realotor said that I needed to remove the replacement stove since they bought a new one. I told him that I wasnt aware of anything saying that I did. He said that my realtor told him that I would. My realtor was out of town that day and not able to make it to the closing. When he called me later he said that he never told them that...so their realtor lied at closing. I told them I would take it away since I needed to go there and remove some items from the side of the house taken from the basement to the dump.
When I was there, the new owner mentioned that he found some exterior house paint in the cabinet and asked if I was taking that as well. I told him I wasnt sure if the dump would take it and left the conversation at that. I came back for another load of stuff after that and never returned as I fulfilled my contractual agreement and more with the stove.
Well my lawyer called me today stating that they got a fax from their atty stating that I did not remove everything. The fax was vauge and they are not sure what they are referring to.
I guess my question is here, after a walk through is done on the home and closing is over...do they have a right to come back and say this or expect me to take anything that may have been forgotten other than what I told them I would take and did take?
I would appreciate any help.

Re: Do I have any Rights?
Your rights depend on your contract.
The two leading choices that come to mind: Ask them to be more specific, or ignore them and see what happens.
