Can you get partially emancipated from one parent's custody if he's abusive to you and your sister, so that you can just stay with the other parent?
You aren't going to be emancipated. There is no such thing as a partial emancipation. If you father is abusing you and/or your sister call CPS or talk to a school counselor. If CPS finds abuse they may put you and your sister in foster homes for a while. Forget about living with your friend
No, you can't. That is not what emancipation means.
Emancipation means that you have been declared by the court, or the state, to be a self-sufficient adult. In most of the states that will emancipate a minor (not all states will) this requires that you be living independently of your parents (that's parents plural, not parent singular) and paying all of your own expenses. It does not mean that you "divorce" one of your parents while the other is still supporting you.
You also don't seem to understand what emancipation is. Despite what you think you know of the term from social studies class, it's not a way to escape parental enslavement, but rather the recognition that an INDEPEDENT minor needs relief from a few items (notably the ability to enter into contracts) that would normally be denied him. It's not a way of terminating parental rights.
