What is the Punishment for Statutory Rape
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Massachusetts. My friend and her boyfriend (who will both remain unnamed due to privacy reasons that they both prefer) got pregnant, yet she is only fourteen and he was nineteen. She has already had the baby and has not put the name of the father on the birth certificate. However, she is still scared that he will get in trouble. What is the maximum sentence for this type of crime and/or life long consequences of this crime.

It depends upon how the offense is charged. He could either be facing up to a life sentence or no more a fine and up to 3 years in prison.

Up to life in prison. Also subject to lifetime sexual offender registration. He is already in trouble.

    Massachusetts General Laws. G.L. c. 265, § 23,

“Whoever unlawfully has sexual intercourse or unnatural sexual intercourse, and abuses a child under 16 years of age, shall be punished by imprisonment in the state prison for life or for any term of years or, except as otherwise provided, for any term in a jail or house of correction. A prosecution commenced under this section shall neither be continued without a finding nor placed on file.”

    Dad needs an attorney. Now.

If she has to go on government assistance, they're going to want to know who the dad is so they can go get their money from him in the form of child support. Is she going to just "forget" then? What do her parents think about this? Do they know he's the father and that he is 19?

How old are you? If my friend got knocked up by a pervy adult I'd probably report him.
