Playing Sports With Minors

Is it illegal to play basketball with a teenager if you're friends with his parent's. I play basketball every week with this kid and his dad. I've known them for three years. They are really good friends of mine.

If they are such good friends why did you feel the need to ask the question? What has caused you to be concerned?

Perhaps you could share enough facts so that people can understand why you are concerned about being criminally prosecuted for playing basketball.

exactly how old are you and why do you feel the need to befriend teenage boys? Honestly, your posts come across as creepy and the reason I thought of that is I can't think of any other reason you would be asking except that you have been told in the past to stay away from teenage boys.

Is it illegal on its face? No. It might be weird - depending on your age, but it is not, per se, illegal. What would make you think it might be?

However, if the parents of the minor child have told you not to play basketball with their kid, that can become a different story.

Apparently OP plays basketball with the kid and the kid's father, and has been doing so for three years now. Why that would mean OP is suddenly in legal hot water now is beyond me.

Well that's kind of ridiculous! There are no answers on this website that say it's illegal to play basketball with minors and their parents. All of the the answers are about having sex with minors, not playing basketball with them. So the obvious inference is that unless you're having sex with this minor, you're not doing anything illegal. Duh. :wallbang:
