What Should You Do After You're Caught Stealing at Work and are Fired
I live in Alberta Canada which has similar laws to Us
i've been fired from my work for theft of 500$ from my cash register and was wondering what the best course of action for me would be. This would be my first offence and im 19 would i qualify for a diversion program/community service etc. I have not spoken to the police or anyone besides my employers when i was terminated. I signed a 1 year ban from said store.

You need a Canadian message board.

An attorney would be a good idea, too.

    No it doesn't.

What should you do? Stay out of the store and don't use them as a reference in the future.

I have 30+ years' training and work experience in Canadian and American law and I can tell you with complete and utter certainty that Canadian and US laws are not at all similar. Not in any way, not nohow. No.

    Well, there is one similarity.

Commit crimes - go to jail.

Wut? How strange! Makes no sense...what is going on with this site? (And re what we discussed before about me not being able to get into the site? Absolutely true, no mistakes on my part, I typed my username and password sooooo carefully about 14 or 15 times. And then when you started looking around, then voila! I could get in. Strange.)

Yeah, how weird is that? And also freegirl and lp101. She must have friends in high places.
