Re: 21 Year Old man Sexting My 15 Year Old Daughter
Not only did I take her tablet, all of her accounts are attached to an email that is synced with my phone. I deactivated her facebook and Instagram. I changed the passwords first so she has no way of attempting to reactivate. I also changed all the Wi-Fi info so she's unable to log in (say if she got a device from a friend).
She knows that its wrong because the day the dude came to my house, it was my daughter, her female friend and this guy.... My husband immediately went off telling the guy he's lost his mind that my daughter is 15 and if he doesn't get lost he'll get his ____ beat... He left. My daughter and the friend tried to convince us that the guy was her friends cousin who's just over to visit. I know better. I was a teenage girl.
I will be contacting police this evening when I am Home from work. I want this man taught a lesson in messing with teenage girls. You all would be disgusted if you read some of his messages. And he must have the literacy of a 3rd grader because my 9 year old spells better than he does. I am just so appalled.

And if parent doesn't know the current password, they can't change the password. But they can still get the account deleted.
It won't be deleted forever - just until it's logged into again. There's ways to get the password if the kid won't tell the parent.

Good job!

I'm not going to argue with you about it. You can read it yourself. This quote is from Facebook help center.

How do I permanently delete my account?
If you don't think you'll use Facebook again, you can request to have your account permanently deleted. Please keep in mind that you won't be able to reactivate your account or retrieve anything you've added. Before you do this, you may want to download a copy of your info from Facebook. Then, if you'd like your account permanently deleted with no option for recovery, log into your account and let us know.
When you delete your account, people won't be able to see it on Facebook. It may take up to 90 days from the beginning of the deletion process to delete all of the things you've posted, like your photos, status updates or other data stored in backup systems. While we are deleting this information, it is inaccessible to other people using Facebook.
Some of the things you do on Facebook aren’t stored in your account. For example, a friend may still have messages from you even after you delete your account. That information remains after you delete your account.

Omg wow. You got me. I didn't know that. I had been under the impression you couldn't delete it forever. My bad. :apthy:
Re: 21 Year Old man Sexting My 15 Year Old Daughter
I didn't want to delete her account or even block him. I wanted to keep it deactivated that way if I need to show police, I can log back in to her account to reactivate it & all his info will still appear. As long as her account is deactivated he can not unfriend her or block her to try to deny anything. The good thing about FB is even if he tried to delete their conversation, its only deleting on his end. Same as texting. He can't erase the convo from history.
I spoke to my aunt today who is a police officer in another state. She stated I should also request an order of protection in that way if he ever tries to come in contact her again he will automatically go to jail for violating. Thank you all for your advice!
Re: 21 Year Old man Sexting My 15 Year Old Daughter
Good job on the locking down the social media accounts -- sounds like you've done the right things.
And just FYI, according to this article by a Texas attorney:
Adults who engage in sharing sexually explicit photos with minors are subject to much greater penalties. In these cases, the adults may face child pornography charges. An adult who is found to be in possession of explicit photos of minors could be charged with possession of child pornography, possibly leading to:
Conviction on a third degree felony charge
Incarceration in prison for two to 10 years
A fine of up to $10,000
Registration as a sex offender

Re: 21 Year Old man Sexting My 15 Year Old Daughter
Thank you. Unfortunately and fortunately my daughter did not send him nude photos. He sent her nude photos of himself and videos of himself masturbating. She sent him pics of her wearing short-shorts and dancing but she's fully clothed.
I will update later this evening or tomorrow after I've had the chance to file a report.
Thank you all for the support and advice! This is a mothers nightmare!

If you block him you can still see his messages he sent her if she kept them. Yes an order of protection is a very good idea.
