Can You Get a Retroactive Child Support Increase Based on Underreported Income
My question involves a child support modification from the State of: Texas
My ex husband lied about what he made twice on a child support modification stating he made a lot less. Well now he obtained an attorney to negotiate lowering his child support by around $400.00 because he feels it's only right. The Texas Attorney General advised me to file for a modification because of what he did so my question now is since I found out he lied can I sue him for back child support for my kids. I've read that if you can prove the non custodial parent intentionally lied that you can. Our kids are from 22-17.

If you can prove actual misrepresentation, petition the court for a retroactive modification. If the court finds actual misrepresentation and that you did not have sufficient information or cause to bring your motion at an earlier date, you may be able to convince the court to grant you some relief.
