    What is the statue of limitations for a creditor in OH? I forgot to ask that in my other post. Two creditors are writing me for a twelve year old debts.

    These are supposed to be credit cards.

    The statute of limitations for written contracts in Ohio is 15 years, but I have been told that they may apply the four year "sales contract" limitations period to credit card debt.

    A quick search turned up this claim, from an article in the Cleveland Plain Dealer:

    On the statute of limitations, it varies by state. In Ohio, it's 15 years for credit cards issued by banks and four years for department store credit cards.
