Meeting with a Minor You Met Online Through Chatroulette
My question involves criminal law for the state of:
Hello everyone wanted to ask if they can get trouble from chatroulette, a site that puts in communication 2 strangers through webcam without any personal information exchange. The site is forbidden for children under the age of 18, who comes in knows to find content for adults. I want to know if anyone has ever had trouble if he met a child who does not show his age. Im very scared from this but i think that is an adult webchat and that if someone in the case met me for sure before meet other naked guys. Im not current use the site and i dont want to use animore but im asking if you can get in trouble also if when you register on the site you must declare your age. Im not looking for minor so im not a pedophile.

In most jurisdictions I know of sexual activity with or photography of someone under age is a strict liability crime, and it does not matter whether a defendant knew or even had any way to know the person was under age.

I know and i think also its a horrible crime.. i know reading on internet that some people get accused to sent photo on phone or on social network ( facebook) or skype. Chatroulette is not that you dont have any personal information of the other.
I dont think i talked with under age but maybe a twenty years old could be a 17 y.old and i cant know of sure. Anybody knows of case like that on chatroulette? I dont want to ruin my life for a thing like that( im 21) . Has the disclaimer when the people confirm that are 18 y.old and the creation of account where eventually a minor must lie to enter in chatroulette any right of defense in court eventually?

So...you're original subject was about meeting a minor that you met through Chatroulette. What's that about? Did you attempt to do so?

I was asking if you meet a Minor age on the chat of chatroulette because maybe its impossible to see if he's 17 or 18 what can happen.

    Can anyone answer me?

Asa_Jim answered your question. If the other person is a minor and you are legally an adult, any exchange of sexual/explicit photos or other material or conversation is a crime. If a 17 yo claims they are 19, looks 19, shows you an ID/DL that claims they are 19, it does not matter, you are an adult having improper interaction with a minor and can face criminal charges where your lack of knowledge of their true age is irrelevant.

Ok i understand the concept like i before knows that have cyber sex with person that dont have the age of consent its illegal.
But i dont understand its why are you using an hard line( giving a wrong title to the post.. maybe it can be explicit exposition to minor ? ) with me if im only an user of a webchat... but you know i have clean cosciente just i was scared about' what can happen If' , and im worried since a couple of month for use the chatroulette months ago. So if you want to change the title its ok , if you dont want you can close the post when you want. My question started because its a 18 y.old chat.
    Good day.
