Guard Attacked by a Prison Inmate
My question involves criminal law for the state of: TEXAS

I was a guard in Texas with TDCJ, I was attacked by an inmate, could not find an attorney to take a case and the state did not pick up the assault " Due to the Riots going on in Ferguson" at the time. This was October 30,2014. I have permanent nerve damage in my shoulder/arm, neck injuries that even surgery didn't fix and having so much troubles dealing with the night-terrors that are associated with PTSD ( along with the short term memory loss, constant headaches etc.....) What is the Statute of Limitations on an " Assault on a Peace Officer" at least that is what I was told it was being classified.

As a crime, then that is something for the county prosecutor to take up. You do not need to hire an attorney to prosecute someone. If the state is not going to take up the prosecution, you may want to ask why not? If the offense was a felony, then the state would appear to still have time to file. If it was a misdemeanor, then it would appear that the time has past.

You are certainly free to hire an attorney to sue the inmate, but ... well ... he's in jail (or he WAS in jail three years ago). I doubt he has much in the way of assets. But, since it appears personal injury claims in TX have a two year SoL, you're probably out of luck there.

If you were injured, you did put in for worker's comp. (or the equivalent in TX) didn't you?
