What Will Happen to a Minor Who is Caught Shoplifting
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Indiana
This is my first offence and I'm a minor. I just want to know what to expect in court.
I read online that it being my first time, they would nothing more than just let me off with a warning... but a big part of me says that they're more than likely going to give me a 6 month probation. And me and my family are going out of state a lot this summer due to my brother graduating and I obviously don't want to miss that.
I just want to know what to expect to be asked in the courtroom, and if i should expect probation or not? If so, what kind, and for how long maybe?
Re: First Time Offender of Anything, Caught Shoplifting
You do understand a parent must go with you to court. It may be well advised that they also obtain services of a lawyer.
If your case remains in juvenile court, you may just be released to your parents with a warning. Six months of probation is also a strong possibility.
