Getting Permission from a Parent to Leave the State
My question involves civil rights in the State of: My mom has put me in 6 hospitals in the past and I want to get in Arkansas with a plane ticket and out of Arkansas with the greyhound she wants to write a document legally that states she will let me get out is there anyway to verify that this will stand in court or legally as a document that will be able to stick as to whether or not i can leave the state of Arkansas by her words through a legal document?
Re: Me Being Held in Arkansas
Your post is bit confusing about what is going on. You say your mother has put you in “6 hospitals in the past” which implies that you are not in any hospital now. You also do not say why she had you put in the hospital. It is also important to know how old you are. If you are at least age 18 then you can go wherever you want in the U.S. without the need for your mother’s permission unless she has been appointed by a court as your guardian. You ask if your mother’s permission would “be able to stick as to whether or not i can leave the state of Arkansas.” Is there some reason, like a court order, that you cannot leave Arkansas? What is it, other than your mother, that might prevent you from leaving Arkansas? Finally, you mention wanting to get into Arkansas by plane ticket. That implies you are not in Arkansas now. If you aren’t in Arkansas now, then where are you? And if you are not in Arkansas, why do you want to fly there just to turn around again and leave the state by bus?

Gee, last time he was trying a bus ticket.

Re: Getting Permission from a Parent to Leave the State
Is the issue here that you are an adult under a guardianship due to your mental health problems, that you are mentally ill and are afraid of being again hospitalized, that you are a minor, or some combination thereof?
Re: Getting Permission from a Parent to Leave the State
I am not mentally ill but i am afraid of being hospitalized i am going back to take the greyhound because it will get rid of my headache in order for me to get rid of a headache that is plaugeing me. I am not under adult guardianship but would like to know if my mother wrote a legal document saying she would let me go by greyhound to relieve my headache would that be eligible legally?
what is preventing me is a possible court order or her calling a missing kid report on me and the possibility of the police detaining me
Re: Getting Permission from a Parent to Leave the State
How old are you and how will taking a bus out of state fix your headache?

I want to say we established in one of OP's previous identities/threads that they are legally an adult but will have to double-check.
Yup.

Re: Getting Permission from a Parent to Leave the State
If you are not a minor and there is no court-appointed guardian, you can go anywhere you want and you do not need permission from your mother.

Re: Getting Permission from a Parent to Leave the State
But the police officer i spoke to in Arkansas said she could file a missing child report and then the police could detain me or worse she could get a court order written. I am 24 years old and am leaving on the greyhound bus because i believe it will take away my headache
she has putten me in 6 different mental hospitals.
Re: Getting Permission from a Parent to Leave the State
Please explain how travelling on a greyhound bus relieves headaches.
Re: Getting Permission from a Parent to Leave the State
it just happened with me last time I had a similar headache the headache went away with taking the greyhound.
Re: Getting Permission from a Parent to Leave the State
If you are 24 years old and you do not have a court-ordered guardian you can board any bus you want and go anywhere you want. The police officer you spoke to in Arkansas is wrong.
