What I should do in Florida?
I totally forgot to pay the item which value $100.00 in FL Neiman Marcus since I bought and carried too much items in the same Mall that day. This is a mistake made by me and I might not be able to explain it clearly forever. But I know that this is the first time and will never happen to me any more. I got a ticket and asked to go to court next month. It will be appreciated if Anyone could tell me what I could do for this situation and what result might be. Will there be any records in my life? Will they notice my employer? thanks

You cannot prove your intent. Fact is you took an iten out of store that you had not paid for thats theft! There will be no way out of this! Consult with a criminal defense Attorney and ask if you qualify for diversion. Diversion will meet court requirments for punishment and still keep a conviction off your record

I totally understand this. The ploice told me that this is small thing and usually do not hire the Attonrey even I indicated that I took this very serious. I am not sure if I could stand on this .... I am very emotional and upset myself about all those things. Could you give me some advice on this? What is Diversion? So you think that there must be a record for me forever even this is first time and no more in the future, right? Will they notice my employer? Will this prevent me getting a job? Thank you for your advice and your time ....

A means to meet your court obligations without a conviction on your record So you think that there must be a record for me forever even this is first time and no more in the future, right? You were arrested and charged and will likely be found guilty yes ther is a record and yes it never goes away! If you read what I input in your quote in bold
I believe I answered your questions. Do not use this site in place of proper legal defense you need to consult with an Attorney

Thank you for your advice. You mentioned that "You were arrested and charged and will likely be found guilty yes ther is a record and yes it never goes away! ". Could you tell me if it means that there is no way for me to make up this mistake? I definitely will take your word to look for a attoney, do you have any this kind of attoney in South Florida you could recommend to me? Could you also tell me if those records will be kept in Local level, State level, or even Federal ?

Looked like that the policman probably just want to comfort me since I am so upset myself ... He did mention this is first time for me. I knew his word probably from the record he checked or he trust my word. It is fact that this is my first time. I swear to GOD that this will not happen even there is records forever ... But still I want to do something to indicate that in the future instead of word only if the law could give me one chance ...

    Thanks again!

Thank you for your quick reply. You are very helpful.

    1. Could you tell me what the possible estimated cost for me to hire a attorney for possible diversion programs?
    2. What happen if I do not have enough money for hiring an attorney?
    3. Should I contact the policeman about attorney? Should I let him know about this first?

Thank you so much for guiding me to the right steps I should follow. I am so appreciated that you work though all day since very ealier Sunday morning. You might not be able to image how I feel and I actually wondered if I have chance to survive from this or just die to finish all those unexpected things... You are hard worker and you will get reward in the future on this. Word could not express my appreciation in here.

    1. Could you tell me what the possible estimated cost for me to hire a attorney for possible diversion programs? Start calling ask Attorneys their rates
    2. What happen if I do not have enough money for hiring an attorney? You can request a public defender and talk to him/her about diversion
    3. Should I contact the policeman about attorney? Should I let him know about this first? You are done with Police. The Police role was the arrest and citation. Start calling Lawyers get some free consulations if it will be too costly request public defender at your court appearence do not enter a plea!
