How to Find Out Whether Childcare or Schools Are Nearby a Potential Residence
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Missouri
Hello can anyone please tell me how to find whether a potential residence will be accepted as being further than 1000 feet. In Missouri there are restrictions for living near childcare facilities within people's homes. I'm looking to prevent surprises when moving from MO from NJ. Can anyone please tell me whether there's a database where a potential location can be submitted before talking to police about moving; or whether I simply need to submit the location to the police and ask whether that is not a restricted residence. Thanks for your time and consideration.
Re: Finding Out Whether Childcare or Schools Are Nearby a Potential Residence
When you have a potential location, you can call the assessors office of the jurisdiction and ask. NJ does not have a database with such distances from schools or childcare facilities.
You can also use GIS mapping if the jurisdiction has that available to make an estimation of the distance. Schools are easy to identify but childcare facilities are not.
In the end, contacting the local police jurisdiction may be the only way to determine if the location is suitable.
This is about a sex offender registrant?
Re: Finding Out Whether Childcare or Schools Are Nearby a Potential Residence
Thanks very much that's a big help. Yes I should have been more clear this is regarding sex offender registry. The assessor may offer some insight. I'm thinking, in the end, it will be the police who has to assess it - looking into all little home-based child care facilities and churches around. I was looking to avoid bringing 5,6,7 or more locations to the police (especially with out-of-state requests) and I'll keep researching to have the most acceptable place ready to declare when moving. That may not happen though. There are a lot of hidden home-based childcare facilities around the midwest
