Reporting Marital Rape and Child Abuse

I am looking into it today. I know I have PTSD. I was diagnosed for it last summer but I havent told a professional everything he has done to me yet.

If you are NOT in WA then you would not qualify for legal aid in WA. And with Trump attempting to defund Legal Services Corp. legal aid may go the way of the do do bird.

You really need to just take care of yourself and let the legal process do what it does. You can't control charges or lawyers or judges or police unfortunately. I simply asked what state because the only state that doesn't require force was Oklahoma. Every other state that has these asinine marital rape exemptions stated that if force and/or threats were used...that's the only reason I asked. He did threaten you with violence though.

It depends on where you filed the report and who is investigating it. That's why I got confused that you said it happened in Washington but you didn't file it there.

If you have a lawyer, let your lawyer handle it. If you aren't happy with that lawyer, find another one. I know lawyers are expensive but you can't do this without a lawyer. I hope you are getting the help you need and taking care of yourself so you can take care of your kids. Your husband is a sadistic pos who deserves to be in the darkest, deepest cell on the planet and never deserves to see the light of day again.

What kind of lawyer do I get? Criminal? Everyone i see ssys theyre criminal defense. Sorry i just am not familair with any of this.

It has a lot of resources for sexual assault survivors and loved ones. You could call the RAINN hotline and see if someone can direct you to the right place. You could look up criminal defense attorneys in your area and find one with free consultation and see what they recommend.
