Fee For Transferring Probation To Another State
I was released from custody on Wednesday, March 7th, after spending 3 months in jail for my third DUI. I was allowed to do alcohol treatment in lieu of a possible 6 more months in jail.
My home and family is in California and the judge allowed me to transfer probation there to do my 6 month treatment program. I have a bed date next week. However, I'll be on "probation". The judge told me that to transfer probation from here, Washington state, to California would require me to pay California $2000. Does that sound like something anyone on this thread has ever heard of? HELP!
Re: Transferring probation from one state to another
I've not personally experienced that, but if the transfer is costing the court additional funds I am not surprised that they would want to recover the cost.
