Can You be Charged With Doing Cocaine Based on a Surveillance Video
A patron at a venue in Maryland is seen on video snorting a substance that appears to be cocaine. Can the person be criminally charged with cocaine possession based upon the video?

Absent additional evidence, the prosecutor won't be able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the substance being snorted was cocaine, or any other controlled substance. If the person does not confess to snorting cocaine on the video, odds are no prosecution will occur.
