Is there any way I can get out

okay i want out of this house. is there anyway to leave. i know i could take it to court and have my grandparents try to get custody but im afraid i wouldnt have teh greatest case but at the same time i think i would. Im emotionaly drained from living here my step dad wants to have 110% contoll over me and wont let me be a teenager. my mom on the other hand just sits back and lets it happen. My step dad does nothing but drink and yell. he wants to be my dad but he can never be my dad who was killed four years ago. is there anyway to get out? i've tried to talk to my mom about it but she just thinks im kidding but im not anymore

Laws vary by state in order to see what (if any) laws apply to your situation you need to give us the information Aaron requested. I will add this if your in an abusive situation (neglect is abuse) you or someone else should file a report with Social Services

Im 16 and live in Ohio...its not neglect so much more so mental abuse, which is just as bad

Ohio has no emancipation Statute. If your in an abusive (emational abuse counts) situation then contact CPS.

Not likely although your Grandmother is free to petition courts for custody. she would need to prove that it would be in your best interest.

would i have some what of a say of what i wanted to do being 16 though?
