What Are Your Options for an Out of State Probation Violation Warrant
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Washington
I had a DUI conviction in 2001 in the state of Washington. I failed to meet the requirements (alcohol assessment, victims panel). I thought I had but there was some confusion. I have since moved to Iowa where I've had a drivers license since 2012. Was told when I went to renew that there was a hold which turns out to be from a warrant due to not completing the probation terms. I've spoken with an attorney in that county and been told that if I can complete those items here and show the court I may be ok. He wasn't sure that the judge would allow him to appear on my behalf. I'm really just looking for more opinions on whether to check with another lawyer or is it truly unlikely that I'd be able to handle this without traveling across the country?

Most likely you will need to take a short vacation back in Washington.
