California Child Sexual Abuse
A friends sexual abuser took pictures and videos of her when she was under age, which pictures show her nude and engaged in sex acts including intercourse with the abuser, a man 30 years older than her. She was 15 at the time and this occured 10 to 11 years ago. It has become known to her that he still possess these pictures and videos in keeps them in a hidden place.
What criminal recourse might she have agaisnt him?
What means might she employ to discover these items assuming he keeps them in a safe depoiste box or some rental storage place?

Someone she confided in. I've encouraged her to seek help, which she started to get but she keeps all of this secret from her family. The abuser was a family member.

Ca. Civ. Proc. Code 340.1 Civil claims must be filed within 8 years of the victim reaching the age of majority or within three years of the date the plaintiff discovers or reasonably should have discovered that psychological injury or illness occurring after the age of majority was caused by the sexual abuse.
Time may have expired on the civil suit that she may have had. Is she 26 years old yet?

I have no idea how she would be able to obtain things that he has in his possession.
Tell her to go to the police and see if anything can be done to the molester.
