Why Would You Be Called In for a Probation Meeting During Unsupervised Probation
A man in New Jersey is on six months unsupervised probation following a theft charge. The defendant has been making all of his payments, and has not committed any new offenses or even had a traffic or parking ticket. He has received a letter from the probation department indicating that he needs to come in for a meeting, which will occur roughly four months into his probation. Why would the probation department schedule a meeting before probation ends, if there isn't a problem?

Unfortunately, the only place to get an answer is the probation department. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that there's a gap in his probation paperwork and they want him to sign something they forgot to have him sign at the time of sentencing, but I can only guess.
