Marriage to a Cuban Resident
My name is Jorge, I've been entering the US 2 years ago, I always entered the country with a Tourist Visa, but now, after 30 days of my last visit, I decided to get married to my Girlfriend. So i have 2 questions:
1. Since she is a Permanent Resident, and originally from Cuba, does the Cuban adjustment help in any way?
2. Once we get married, can i leave the country and re-enter with my Tourist Visa?
Thanks to everyone......I can't seem to find help in other forums, hope someone can help me here.......thanks
Jorge.
Re: Marriage to a Cuban Resident
The reason you can't find help in other forums is because your question makes no sense.
Re: Marriage to a Cuban Resident
Are you going to try to become a permanent resident? Or is it your plan not to try to establish residency in the U.S., and just to continue as before with tourist visas?

He wants to know about the "Cuban adjustment" but from what I can tell, that has nothing to do with his situation.
Re: Marriage to a Cuban Resident
Let me explain again......
I've entered the US many many times, and never overstayed. I mention that you know i have a good record with Immigration.
This time, I entered like 30 days ago, and I''m about to get married to a Permanent Resident.
I want to know what should i do........in general.
The reason i mentioned the "Cuban Adjustment" was because somebody told me that with that law, if a marry a Cuban who is a permanent resident in the US I get my green card faster.....but that's just some info someone told me, but the general question is, where do i start once i marry her.......
And the question about me leaving the country was because, after we get married, somebody told me I can no longer enter the US with my B1/B2 Visa......so......thats it.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Re: Marriage to a Cuban Resident
If you're not a Cuban, you don't get a direct benefit from laws directed at Cubans. If you apply for permanent residency, subsequent application for a tourist visa would be deemed an abandonment of your application for permanent residency.
Re: Marriage to a Cuban Resident
ok, but, as soon as we get married, can i have something so i can leave and enter the country.....because my work is traveling a lot......
Re: Marriage to a Cuban Resident
If you are applying for permanent residency, you can ask for what is called "advance parole".
Re: Marriage to a Cuban Resident
And with "Advanced Parol" can i enter and leave the US as many times i need to? How much time do you think it takes from the moment my wife send the application to the moment i get my advanced parol?
Thanks a lot for the info.....
Re: Marriage to a Cuban Resident
You apply for what you need. You see what is granted. You live within the confines of what you get.
Re: Marriage to a Cuban Resident
o.....k, but, is there an estimate of the period of time that people normally wait till they receive their Advance Parol?
