Does Speeding Traffic Violation with Hazmat Affect Naturalization
    Hello Friends,

I had a speeding ticket and 1.5 points on my DMV record, unfortunately CHP officer marked as if I was carrying HAZMAT (hazardous materials) at the time of citation. The truth is that I did not carry HAZMAT and it was my personal car. I realized it late on the citation/DMV DL record late, and the traffic court case is closed (after paying fine and attending traffic school)an year ago, and apparently it is not easy to get that corrected on my DMV DL record now.

I filed for Naturalization in Jan and inadvertently marked NO to the 'have you been cited' question.

Please advise if this negatively affects my Naturalization, and should I contact an immigration attorney for help. Any experience you can share will be very helpful.

I read the following document at the time of filing N400, assumed that speeding tickets are not required to be reported. At the time of N400 filing, my conversation with DMV is that HAZMAT is by mistake marked on the DL record, and I filed DL-207 form requesting correction per DMV agent's advise. After filing N400, my request for correction is rejected by DMV saying I need to get that corrected with the traffic court.

    Thank you,
