H1 Transfer Assistance

Hi,
I'm working for X and I've got the H1 B Visa on January 11th 2007 through a 'Y' Employer, however he has been delaying my entry to US because of some business reasons. So I'm still in India and I dont know when I'll enter US.
I'm looking out for opportunities to work with other Employer as I'm not confident about 'Y'. I have following couple of questions.

1) Is there a time limit about my entry into US or I can enter at anytime till my Visa expires (Expiry date of Visa is October 2009)?
2) Can I apply for H1 transfer and work for another Employer rather than Y?

You can enter until your visa expires. You cannot transfer your visa until it is stamped and you start working in the U.S., but you can get a visa through a different employer before that time.

I already have the Visa stamped on January 11th 2007 through company 'Y'.
Can any other company (other than Y) apply for the transfer using the premium processing or is it mandatory that I have to work for 'Y' for a certain period before any other company apply for Visa Transfer

You don't have portability until you start working. Generally speaking you should have paystubs for three months of work prior to transfer.
