And thats bad why? He doesnt go to jail isnt that good! Far as customer service he wasnt a customer he was thief!

Well if anyone accused me of being a thief, i would probably say something like "How dare you accuse me of being a thief, i don't steal and you better take back what you said or i'mm gonna sue you!" Because didn't Tom Cruise sue someone who accused him of being Bisexual.

Like your sig,BTW you misspelled "perceived"

MichaelG, Spencers is a small store and they usually don't have LP's working the stores so it was as mentioned a 'sales clerk'....lighten up.

Dad, as far as the clerk they are following company policy and probably shouldn't have told your wife something (a lie) to get her down there. If you look at the 'clerks' at Spencers they are not the sharpest tools to begin with so good judgement goes out the door.

It sounds like your son had a brain fart but realistically, don't you think YOU would know if you had a hat on or not? No matter, he will probably get some counseling, classes on shoplifting and strong warnings for the court. You will most likely get a civil demand from Spencers law firm, that will be a bigger pain than your son's court sentencing. He should come out OK, I'd think after you see the civil demand he'll face a far more harsh punishment.

Maybe the son lost his head with the hat on it. BTW what is a "brain fart"?

First three signs of senility: loss of memory and, and um, I forgot the other two.
