    Criminal Records from Sealed Cases
Couple of months ago a friend and I got caught in department store. She had changed tickets of an item for a lesser price, I did not change tickets, but I was in the same fitting room as her so they also pressed charges against me. My case is closed now about a month, and I am now offered a position at a government instituition. My lawyer told me that any questions asking me if I was ever convicted, I can answer no. So that's what I did, answered no. The institution is now doing a background check and they got my fingerprints to send it to the FBI for a full background check. I am really nervous, what will the FBI see in my file? Will there be a file? My case is sealed, but I have fingerprints on the computer. Also my lawyer said that I was not convicted and the charges went thru as just like a traffic violation. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks

    Full Background Check
Depending upon the disposition of your case, there may still be a public arrest record, but from what you said there shouldn't be anything to indicate a conviction - you weren't convicted - so your answer should be determined to be truthful.

    ?
Thank you for your response Aaron. The application and the fingerprint form stated that the form will be sent to the FBI for verification and complete criminal bacground check. Since I don't have a criminal record, will they see anything and what ever they see -would that disqualify me for the job?

    Job Application & Arrest Record
As I don't know what would disqualify you from the job at issue, I can't really answer that.
