How to Request a Sentence Modificaiton for a Child in Juvenile Hall

A child in California is in juvenile detention, and his mother wants to see if she can get a sentence reduction. The minor was sentenced to a year, but the sentence has been extended due to bad behavior while in detention, and she thinks that the increased sentence is excessive. What should she do?

She should have the juvenile's lawyer bring an appropriate motion before the juvenile court. It isn't a venture with which she is likely to have much success without legal assistance.
