Ritzville Washington Speeding Ticket
I don't know where exactly to begin. I got a speeding ticket last May, and to make a long story short, "FORGOT" about it until now. I am Canadian with a B.C. drivers license. Since the ticket I have been on the road for work, as well as moved, and kept pushing it to the side, without paying for it. I got one letter in the mail (when I was on the road for work) and I just recently found it. I was wondering what the process is from here? The ticket was a speeding ticket, along I90 West, just in Ritzville. I was going down a typical hill and caught speed and didn't realize it. The cop was waiting for me (it seemed). The letter that I did receive stated that my license would be suspended without pay by a certain date. The problem is that was back a few months ago (while I was travelling). What would you suggest I do? I want to pay the ticket, I just don't know how to go about dealing with it, and I don't know what else will happen??? I'm scared. :(
I appreciate any knowledge or advice, thank you!

Q: I was wondering what the process is from here?
A: Surrender. Or hire a lawyer to do the talking for you.
Re: Ritzville Washington Speeding Ticket
Surrender as be arrested?
Over a speeding ticket? I can't just pay the fine?

The arrest would be for your failure to appear in court.
As I said, the alternative is for you to hire a lawyer to get this worked out.
Re: Ritzville Washington Speeding Ticket
COURT?? Oh my god!!
Besides that, I cannot afford a lawyer. Should I contact the county in which the ticket was given and see where I stand? I am sure it is in collection, where does my status go from there? How much do lawyers cost for a matter like this?
I just want to pay my ticket!!!!!!
Re: Ritzville Washington Speeding Ticket
You can certainly contact whoever you want.
However, once there is a warrant for a person's arrest for failure to appear in court, interest in helping that person out goes down real quick.
But, on the bright side, I am sure they want your dough more than they want you.
If you do get it straightened out, then make sure you get something in writing showing that.
And carry that with you whenever driving in the United States.

Oh, there is a warrant for my arrest? WOW....I will never forget again!! Better yet, I will try not to get a ticket again!!!
Thank you SO much for your input and advice... Just one last question...is there anything I could include in my story or leave out that may help my situation?
Re: Ritzville Washington Speeding Ticket
There is nothing in your story that anyone at the court would be interested in.
Just tell them you want to clear this up.
