Can You Break a Lease if Your Landlord Tells You It Won't be Renewed
After being informed by a landlord that the lease will not be renewed when it expires in three months, a tenant told the landlord that he wants to move out now and that the landlord can keep his deposit. Can the tenant be required to complete the lease, and held accountable for moving out early, in Georgia?

Yes, although the landlord would have to make a reasonable effort to find a replacement tenant once the tenant vacates, the landlord may inform the tenant that he will continue to be liable for rent through the end of the lease term, and that a security deposit is not rent.
