Re: Crime and Siamese Twins
The preferred term is "conjoined".
It's an interesting issue for debate, although I'm not aware that it has occurred in reality. Logistically, it would be difficult for one conjoined twin to commit a brutal murder without the other's participation.
Re: Crime and Siamese Twins
Well that doesn't really answer the question given the circumstances I've presented.

Well, if Tim has to serve time it seems as though it is only logical that Casey would have to also since they are conjoined.

Who said I was trying to?
Homework? Debate class?
Re: Crime and Siamese Twins
I gues what the the question boils down to is, are Siamese twins considered to be one person under the law?
Re: Crime and Siamese Twins
No. Conjoined twins are individuals, just like any other set of twins.
Re: Crime and Siamese Twins
Interestingly enough Violet and Daisy Hilton a set of conjoined twins once were in a movie about one twin being convicted of murder. The movie is called Chained For Life.

Maybe they were born in 1930....in Bangkok!
Re: Crime and Siamese Twins
Although i dont know of any cases where the crime was murder, in other less serious crimes the result has always been the same that the twins can not be imprisoned mainly because of the human rights issues involved with false imprisonment of a person (in this case the uninvolved twin).
