Can a Hospitalized Minor Refuse Visitors
If a minor is in the hospital, does she have the right to refuse visitors, and can family members override her wishes? The minor is 17, in Pennsylvania.

Re: Can a Hospitalized Minor Refuse Visitors
The hospital can define a visitor policy that it enforces, which is to say, even if the minor were in a position in which a parent or legal guardian could override the minor's wishes outside of a hospital context, the hospital (like a school) can decide that it won't allow certain would-be visitors to have access to the minor while the minor remains on its premises. There may also be medical or psychological reasons to limit visitors.
