Can You Sue Your Ex-Roommate for Moving Out Early
My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of:
So my roommate decided very suddenly that she wanted to move states. And its the middle of our lease. She told us she wanted to be gone by October But she didnt leave until the end of November. She did tell our realtor that she was planning on leaving but she left without ever giving us the proper paper saying that we accepted she left and shes released from the lease. She did not pay us for novembers rent just octobers. Also because she left so suddenly and did not work anything out with us we now have no water because she didnt pay the last bill and shut off the water leaving us in the dust. We can not turn on the water until we pay the last bill and we have to pay a deposit again. For gas too. We never recieved our portion of the deposit back from the inital time we paid it. So my question is. Can we sue her for novembers rent, and make her pay us back for the water and gas that we never recieved or worked out?

Laws vary by state. Does your lease require notification of intent to vacate in writing?

    Have YOU vacated the dwelling?

You can sue for anything you want. Be prepared to offer documentation of all her transgressions.
