How to Make Sure That Your Employer Sends Your W-2 to a New Address
If you move after you leave a job, and you have updated your address with your former employer but are worried that they won't send your W-2 to your new address, what can you do to make sure that you get it?
Re: How to Make Sure That Your Employer Sends Your W-2 to a New Address
Your employer is supposed to send you your W-2 by January 31 of the following year, so if you don't receive a copy by Feb. 3 (giving a few days for the W-2 to arrive by mail) you should contact your former employer and confirm that it has been mailed to you at your current address. If you don't get your W-2 by Valentine's Day (yes, the actual date set by the IRS is February 14), follow these instructions from the IRS.
