If somebody makes a false 911 call about you, can you have them criminally charged?

If the police determine that a 911 call is false, and they nonetheless decide not to prosecute the caller, odds are that they are not going to be inspired to pursue charges based upon the victim's request that they do so -- but, assuming that's the whole story, there's no harm in asking.
