    Rights of a Pregnant Fourteen-Year-Old
Does a pregnant fourteen-year-old in Ohio have the right to keep custody of her baby? If the father is twenty-three years old, can he go to prison for getting her pregnant?

A fourteen-year-old parent may be able to keep custody, if she has adequate support to provide an appropriate home and care. It may also be that her parents seek guardianship.

At fourteen, a child is not legally capable of consenting to sexual activity, and even if she believes that the sex was consensual her adult boyfriend could potentially be sentenced to up to eighteen months of incarceration and be required to register as a sex offender.
