Legal Consequences of Sharing Video of a Car Accident
A New York resident videotaped a car accident, and there is now a lawsuit that has resulted from the accident. The plaintiff wants a copy of the video. The defendant says that the video should not be provided to the plaintiff because he didn't consent to being videotaped. Can the man share the video without getting into legal trouble?

There is not ordinarily a legal problem or need to get permission for videotaping events that occur in public. If the man is worried, he can tell the plaintiff to have their attorney issue a subpoena for the video.
