Dropping the Children Off With the Other Parent Without His Consent
A mother has primary custody of her children, and the father rarely exercises visitation. The mother has a special event and asked the father to care for the children so she could attend. He said "yes". He later changed his mind and says that he can't take care of the children on that evening. Can she drop off the children with him on the night, anyway, without getting into trouble? This is in Michigan.

If she tries to drop off the children, she may find that he's not home. She may also end up in an argument with him in front of the kids, or having him refuse to open his door.

If she can't work this out with the father, she should consider her other options for child care, such as a babysitter or a willing relative.
