Theft Through Use of a Business Credit Card
A partner in a business was fired from the business, but he left his corporate credit card in the company safe. An employee of the business used the partner's credit card to pay business expenses. The corporate card was tied to the partner's personal bank account, and $25,000 in charges were deducted from the partner's personal bank account. What are the partner's remedies, and how can he get the money back?

He should start by talking to his other business partners about the charges, and about their repaying him. If these were in fact expenses from the business, charged to the wrong account, they should be willing to pay. If they're not, given the short back story about being fired, it's time to see a business lawyer.

If the charges were made by somebody who signed the former partner's name to the charges, not simply for remote transactions by somebody who wasn't paying attention, the former partner may consider making a police report, and disputing the charges with the credit card issuer.
