    How to Calculate Child Support
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: PA

A close friend of mine was living with his girlfriend and had a child with her. They have recently split and he has moved into his own apartment still residing in PA.

The mother has the child and is seeking child support. Doe's anyone know a table for calculating child support in PA?

The state of PA would rather the parents work things out by themselves before using the courts to do it for them. He is only offering $75 a week and that is not enough as the child's daycare is $75 a week. That is why the courts are now involved. Any buddy know the calculations that can help me determine what he should be paying for his fare share?

The state offers a calculator here, to estimate child support payments. For the guidelines, go here and start reading at sec. 1910.16.

    Thank you

Well the $300 he is paying now should be more like $781.67 a month. I'm sure he will be delighted to hear this....

You do realize child support and daycare are two separate things. Example - my ex is supposed to pay so much a month in child support and also half of daycare and half of unreimbursed medical per court order.

So if you go to court it's going to be more like that 781 plus half of daycare maybe.

Oh boy! He thinks $75 a week to cover daycare is way more then he should be paying...

I pay $200 a week for daycare...and have yet to get anything from my ex for it since I put her in daycare after I kicked him out and filed. She has medical issues so she's in a daycare that's also a respite center and has nurses on staff. Wasn't my first choice.

Yeah I think he has a rude awakening coming to what he has to provide for support. I wish my ex could even get a job that would force a $781 a month child support payment. Not likely.

My fault. He pays $75 a week towards the $150 a week daycare bill... Even worse...
