Defenses to Eviction for Falling Behind on Rent
My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Florida
I signed a lease and moved in with no keys. Now I have 4 months left of the lease and the are attempting to evict me for being behind a partial month. My question is was it legal for me to move in without the keys to begin with?
Re: Defenses to Eviction for Falling Behind on Rent
Yes still no keys I figured being a management company that this would be handled I assumed wrong

how long have you lived there?
So you go to work every day and leave the apartment empty and unlocked?
how often have you written the management a demand for the keys?

Takes a screwdriver and a couple of minutes to take a lock out of a door. Then take it to Home Depot, Lowes, or any hardware store and get it rekeyed for about 5 bucks.
Duh.

The last comment was uncalled for I see we are not all adults on here. Next I merely came on this to get advice not to be made fun of. If you can't be helpful then please don't waste my time with your rudeness
No need to be rude about it I came on here for advice not for someone to make fun of the situation shame on you!

He does have a point though. You want to make an issue about the keys yet you did have a simple and inexpensive remedy that you failed to utilize.

I asked a simple question that needed a yes or a no. I see now that you people are rude and judgemental thanks but no thanks

The simple question was answered long ago. You entered into a continued discourse after that. If all you wanted was your first question answered, you didn't need to respond...to anything.....at all.
You're welcome for the answers.
