Are Teacher Work Days Part of a Holiday Break for Visitation
A school calendar shows two different periods leading into a holiday, the first being the closure of the school for teacher work days, and the second being the actual holiday. Specifically, the school is closed on Monday and Tuesday for work days, and on Wednesday through Friday for Thansksgiving. For visitation, does the Thanksgiving break begin on Monday or does it begin on Wednesday?
Re: Are Teacher Work Days Part of a Holiday Break for Visitation
Holiday visitation schedules normally follow the days the children are in school, and thus under a typical custody order the entire week (Mon - Fri) is likely to be treated as a single, Thanksgiving holiday. A holiday schedule would normally begin after the children are dismissed from their last day of school preceding the holiday. The fact that the teachers will be at work for two of those days does not affect the fact that the children have been dismissed from school for the duration of the break.
