Consequences of Missing a Probation Drop
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan
So I've been on probation for a couple months now for a marijuana possession charge and the other day I overslept and missed my drop for the week. I've never dropped dirty before. Also, I was able to get to a doctor that same day and have them give me a drug test (obviously it came up clean). I called my PO and he said that I won't have to see a judge since it's my first time missing it, but that next time I see him he'd explain to me "corrective action" or something like that that he'd be taking.
So I have 2 questions:
1) what does this "corrective action" hold in store for me, and
2) is there still any chance that I'll be able to get off probation early after this?
Re: Missed a Probation Drop
Very simple - ask your probation officer when you see him. Our crystal ball is out for repairs and guessing isn't productive.
Re: Missed a Probation Drop
I appreciate your honesty. I guess my next question then is if asking him about early release from probation will raise some sort of "red flag" in his book? I truely have intentions of staying sober even once I don't have to, but I don't want him to think I'm itching to go use again.
Re: Missed a Probation Drop
I would not ask him at the next meeting when you are discussing the missed drop. I would wait a few more meetings.
