Re: probation transfer
Are you reporting to anyone in SC? If you're following your probation officer's direction you should be in good shape--what do your conditions of probation say about leaving NC? You have to start from there.
Normally, the right way to handle it is to have the probation office contact the probation office in the other jurisdiction where you will be residing so that your probation may be set up there and, preferably, an order from the court in NC providing that your probation is effectively transferred to the other jurisdiction as far as reporting, etc. Court orders remove any doubt. Reporting is usually the key--unless that's addressed it is difficult to live in another state and continue to report to the original state.
I'm not aware of any uniform transfer of probation law or the like.

Re: probation transfer
im on community probation from the state of north carolina,my probation officer gave me a 30 day pass to come to south carolina and help my mom out with all her medical problems.i have not reported to anyone in south carolina because i have not been informed to do so and no one from south carolina has called me or came to see me about my probation.i just found a email form for the state of south,so i email them and ask them about the new law,i also read a law form about people that has already been transfered from one state to another state and its like over 4,000 people and all of them are on community probation like my self.if there is anything else you could help me with im here to read it.thankyou for the help thus far!!!!

Re: probation transfer
Call the cops in South Carolina and ask them how to get ahold of the the probation officers.
Then ask the probation officers.
