Advice For Dating A Minor

Ok, so I am 18 years old (I live in Florida), a senior in high school. I am currently dating a sophomore, still 15 (16 in May). Her mother has no problem with us dating, I have talked to them both and have discussed all the potential repercussions of our dating.... Her father is living across the country and she has no contact with her father. My mother is the only one that seems to have a problem with this. Her entire arguement is that she or her mother could turn and accuse me of something. (which i am very confident wouldn't EVER happen). We have not done anything sexual. So honestly what is the risk of us dating, and would anything change when she turns 16? Anything would help greatly... im about to tear my hair out over the lectures I am getting every day. Much appreciated.

Dating her is fine as long as the parents don't have a problem with this.

yeah everything is fine if her parents dont have a problem with it..Your parents dont really count because your 18 you can do whatever the hell you want.. I just turned 16 and my boyfriend is 18 so I know of know what your going through.

The best advise I know to give anyone in this day and time is....educate your self on the sex offender laws in your state. There is absolutely no mercy for you if was consensual or false allegations. It is a harsh cruel world out there and you will be lumped in with all the bad guys and gals. I just beg you (both genders here..male and female) Be careful...Please be careful....No I don't agree with the laws when it comes to consensual cases but no matter how hard you made plead and beg and both parties agree it was consensual..the law is the law and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. Things must change because there are teens being lumped in with all the bad guys. There is no justice to it. The worse thing I see being done IS the lack of education to you Jr. High and High School students. There definitely needs to be some education on this in all schools starting at Jr. High level. It's a horrible situation right now and most parents aren't even aware of what can happen to their own children. Please research and spread the word to your friends and parents. I am trying to have something initiated into our schools here in Texas...some how some way...It has to be done. Take care of YOU...because know body else will.

Check your laws but I believe Florida has a three year law. If you are within three years of her age the consenual rape of a minor law would not apply. But just to be safe, I would contact your local legal aid society for advice.

You stated this in another Florida thread, please post proof that what you are stating is true.

A 15 year old is not old enough to consent in Florida and "Lewd or lascivious offenses" could apply.

i am 22 and my girlfriend is 16 and i was looking up some information and i wanted to make sure if it is illegal to be with her or legal to be with her.

(This is what i have found:)

800.04 Lewd, lascivious, or indecent assault or act upon or in presence
of child. ---
A person who:
(1) Handles, fondles, or assaults any child under the age of 16 years
in a lewd, lascivious, or indecent manner;
(2) Commits actual or simulated sexual intercourse, deviate sexual
intercourse, sexual bestiality, masturbation, sadomasochistic abuse,
actual lewd exhibition of the genitals, or any act or conduct which
simulates that sexual battery is being or will be committed upon any
child under the age of 16 years or forces or entices the child to commit
any such act;
(3) Commits an act defined as sexual battery under s. 794.011(1)(h)
upon any child under the age of 16 years; or
(4) Knowingly commits any lewd or lascivious act in the presence of
any child under the age of 16 years, without committing the crime of
sexual battery, commits a felony of the second degree, punishable as
provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084. Neither the victim's
lack of chastity nor the victim's consent is a defense to the crime
proscribed by this section. A mother's breast feeding of her baby does
not under any circumstance violate this section.

As used in this section, "sexual activity" means oral, anal, or vaginal penetration by, or union with, the sexual organ of another; however, sexual activity does not include an act done for a bona fide medical purpose.



is it actually legal to be with a 16 year old and havesex with them when you are 22.is there a consent that has to be done or is it just legal?
