Using Offensive Language and Symbols to Protest
If you are protesting a business, and make signs that include swear words, or other offensive language, pictures or symbols, is that legal? Could you be arrested?

Re: Using Offensive Language and Symbols to Protest
There are many lawful protests that include offensive language or pictures. One of the most famous First Amendment cases related to a jacket with the slogan, "F--- the Draft".

That doesn't mean that you're not subject to time, place and manner restrictions. While content-based restrictions on protest are subject to significant scrutiny by the court, your participating in a protest does not excuse you from the application of obscenity laws, or from conduct that rises to the level of fighting words or disturbing the peace.
