Moving Out At Age 16

I'm 16 in 2 weeks Female in Michigan.

My parents recently gave me an ultimatem, move out when i turn 16, or stop seeing my boyfriend.

If they seriously said i was allowed to move out would that be legal? and would it matter who i live with?

could I get a licence without them?

could they get me into trouble if i move out and they randomly decide to get me in trouble?

please help.

Sounds like you are already in trouble.

You can't get a license without parental permission.

I suggest you stop seeing BF! Not to mention parents could get protective order againist him.

You would be allowed to move out at 16, but your parents would not be automatically freed from their obligation of support, or their duty to ensure that you are living in an appropriate environment. Being permitted to move out does not automatically result in emancipation.

For what?

Because they just do not like the guy?

A parent has a "legal" right to get such an order if parent feels or has evidence that the BF (who is an adult) is harmful to childs well being if relationship continues.

They could try to get an order. There's no right to any such order, and they're not supposed to be handed out like candy on Halloween.

I guess i know that the only reason any of this is happening is me,
and the actions i have chosen to do.

I just want to call my BF and apologize because no matter how much he says he is glad he met me I am the worst thing that has ever happened to him.

I wish i could just make all of this stop.

I'm not sure what I'm gonna do about moving out and stuff.

Parents are going to attempt to get a personal protection order though.

against mister boyfriend............ boyfriend is only 16 by the way don't know if that matters.

I might get charged with a felony though.....

They are threatening to charge you with a felony for sending "naughty" pics of yourself to another 16 year old?

Thank goodness the U.S. wasn't going so crazy on this stuff when i was 16. Or 14, for that matter.

haha yeah they say its a felony............ not good...

but yeah idk if I am gonna get charged and the only reason they even could charge me is because i was stupid and my parents found the pics :(

CAN THEY GET A RESTRAINING ORDER AGAINST BOYFRIEND?

and if the restraining order does go through how long would it last, and can they get another one if he obeys that one... also... when i turn 18 can they get another restraining order? if I get emancipated can they get a restraining order? and when I turn 18 can I get the restraining order taken away?

You need to focus on school and not this BF. Yes they can get a protective order and I am unsure of time period but it could be months or a year!

Yes, they can get a restraining order against your boyfriend and they could continue to get them until you are 18.
